Reflections on My Morning Jacket video

Shut up and rock.

It’s that simple.

At some point, every front man gushes musical trivia like a broken fire hydrant on a hot city block. But, if I wanted to cool off I’d take a cold shower.

You might think the audience is hanging on your every word, but they probably aren’t. They’re probably looking at your hands waiting for you to shut it and play a chord.

No, I don’t care about your meandering reflections on the touring life.

No, I don’t care about the gymnasium you rented to record your last album.

No, I’m not your mother—you should call her after the show, she’ll appreciate it.

You know what I do care about? You guessed it—the music your tired monologue’s been circling around these last boring minutes.

Take a lesson from the Ramones—play it fast, play it dirty.

The rest is just filler.
